Privacy Statement

Tosoh Bioscience LLC (“Tosoh” or “we”) provides you with this Privacy Statement to let you know what information we collect when you visit our website, why we collect it, when we disclose it to others and how we protect it. We consider visitors’ privacy a priority and we strive to protect it against unauthorized disclosure or use.

Information We Collect
We collect personal information such as your name, mailing address, email address and phone number.

Our website allows you to create a customer account/ID based on your personal information. With the account, your visit and use of our website is much more convenient and expedient. When you create your account, you enter your personal information (such as your name, phone number, etc.) into our system. Our system saves that information and assigns you a personal account. The next time you order from us, you will only need to enter your log-in information (registered email and password) to access your account. Our system will look up your personal information that you saved into our system. This permits you to avoid entering the same information for the second and subsequent orders.

We may also ask you to provide us with information on your interests, demographics, experience with our products and mailing preferences. This allows us to improve our communications and service to you.

Why We Collect Information
We collect your personal information because it allows us to serve you better and faster. It also allows you more convenience when using our website and ordering our products.

We also use your personal information to keep you updated on our latest product announcements, special offers and events that you might like to know. Of course, if you do not wish us to keep you updated with our news, our website allows you to opt out of that feature. If you have difficulty with the opt out option, please contact us at (484) 805-1219.

Why We Disclose Information
We do not sell, rent or give your personal information to other marketers.

We sometimes disclose your personal information to companies within the Tosoh group. That allows us to provide you with better service. The Tosoh companies are bound to us to safeguard your personal information, and they have their own privacy safeguards in place.

From time to time it may be more convenient to use non-Tosoh companies to serve you. We may find it better, faster or more convenient to use outside companies to process information, extend credit, fulfill your orders, deliver products to you and/or provide customer service. In that event we may need to disclose your personal information to these companies. As a condition for performing the work for us, we require these companies to safeguard your personal information.

We may be required by law or legal process to release your personal information. We also may elect to release your information if we determine that release is necessary due to national security or law enforcement concerns.

How We Protect Personal Information
We strive to protect your personal information against unauthorized disclosure or use. We do this through a variety of measures, technical, administrative and physical.

We use Secure Socket Layer (“SSL”) encryption on all web pages of our e-commerce site where personal information is required. In order for you to order products from our e-commerce site, you yourself must use a current SSL-enabled browser. This helps to protect the confidentiality of your personal information during its transmission over the Internet.
Our personnel with access to your personal information are required to observe confidentiality requirements regarding the information.

There are ways in which you can assist with the protection of your personal information. You should not give your password for the account to anyone else, and you should change the password often. Your password should be a combination of letters and numbers and always use a secure web browser such as Internet Explorer.

EU Residents
If you are an EU resident, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) with regard to your personal information which we collect. Under GDPR, personal data refers to any information that relates to an identified or identifiable, living individual. This can include address, phone number, location, password and IP-address, i.e., the type of information we collect from you. Other types of personal data such as health records, dependents, income, banking information and cultural preferences, we do not collect.

The GDPR is intended to give EU residents control over their personal data and therefore includes a number of obligations aimed at protecting individual's rights. The most important are:

  1. Access: EU residents have the right to request information regarding their personal data, such as what data we collect, what we do with the data (or who is processing the data and why);
  2. Correction: if an EU resident believes that his or her personal data is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate, he or she has the right to have it corrected or completed;
  3. Objection: an EU resident may object at any time to the processing of his or her personal data for a particular purpose;
  4. The right to be forgotten: in certain circumstances, an EU resident can request the deletion of his or her personal data; and
  5. Data portability: EU residents can ask for their personal data to be returned or transmitted to another organization.

If an EU resident wishes to exercise any of the GDPR rights, send an email to [email protected] attaching this GDPR - Subject Access Request Form, completed by you.

When you request it, we will provide you all relevant information about how your data is being processed, the identity and contact details of the controller and of our GDPR Privacy Manager, the purposes of the processing, the legal basis for the processing, the period for which the personal data will be stored and how to exercise your rights. We will provide such information contextually at the time of the collection of personal data or, where not possible, immediately afterwards and in any case no later than one month from collection.

We will erase EU residents’ personal data if the retention of that personal data is no longer necessary (i) for the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed, or (ii) to comply with legal obligations.
