TOYOPEARL SP-650S

TOYOPEARL SP-650S media is a strong cation exchanger for biomolecule purification. The resin is composed of a base material of hydroxylated methacrylic polymer beads that has been functionalized with sulfopropyl (S) strong cation exchange groups.  TOYOPEARL SP-650S resin has a high degree of chemical and mechanical stability, allowing cleaning-in-place (CIP) and high flow rates. TOYOPEARL SP-650S resin has a 100 nm pore size and a 35 µm bead size.

TOYOPEARL SP-650S resin is best used for high resolution intermediate purification and polishing process steps. If greater resolution is needed, the smaller particle TSKgel SP-5PW resins may be used. If lower resolution is desired, the larger particle TOYOPEARL SP-650M or TOYOPEARL SP-650C are recommended. As both the TOYOPEARL SP-650 and TSKgel SP-5PW resins use the same ligand and backbone chemistry, the selectivity between the two resin types will be unchanged.

TOYOPEARL SP-650S has a dynamic binding capacity for lysozyme of 50 g/L. TOYOPEARL SP-650S resin maintains capacity at increased linear velocities, has good pressure-flow characteristics, and will withstand back pressures up to 0.3 MPa.
