Tosoh Bioscience Announces New Line of Non-Porous Ion Exchange Columns

Montgomeryville, PA  -  Tosoh Bioscience LLC announced today the addition of a new series of ion-exchange columns to its extensive line of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) columns. The new product line is aptly named TSKgel STAT Series, as the columns allow fast equilibration and analysis of complex biopolymer samples.

The TSKgel STAT Series columns are packed with non-porous resin particles and enable high speed and high resolution analysis, as well as isolation, of biomolecules in academia and industry. The columns are now available for sale to the Americas from Tosoh Bioscience.

“The demands from biopharmaceutical R & D and QC departments to separate biomolecules (including monoclonal antibody variants & aggregates, drug candidates and siRNA) with higher resolution and with greater throughput are continuing to rise. Customer-driven product development is a tradition at Tosoh Corporation and the novel TSKgel STAT Series ion exchange columns were developed in response to feedback from the market,” according to Cara Tomasek, marketing manager at Tosoh Bioscience.

Available in four different chemistries, the TSKgel STAT Series columns are packed with 7 or 10µm mono-disperse, nonporous particles of which the surface consists of an open access network of multi-layered ion-exchange groups. The innovative bonding chemistry combined with a relatively large particle size results in a respectable loading capacity and a low operating pressure. According to Cara, “Researchers will be impressed by the very efficient chromatography when analyzing proteins, monoclonal antibodies and DNA samples with the new TSKgel STAT Series HPLC columns.”
