Tosoh Bioscience Introduces Alkaline-Resistant Toyopearl Q-600C AR Anion Exchange Resin for Protein Purification

King of Prussia, PA - Tosoh Bioscience LLC, a provider of chromatographic solutions for biopurification, recently announced the introduction of Toyopearl Q-600C AR anion exchange resin for the capture and large-scale purification of smaller proteins such as BSA, or larger proteins such as thyroglobulin.

The Toyopearl Q-600C AR resins are synthesized using a novel polymer chemistry which balances ion exchange capacity with improved caustic stability. Its 750 Å pore size makes it a good selection for processes purifying proteins smaller than 100,000 Daltons. Compared to Toyopearl QAE-550C resin, Toyopearl Q-600C AR resin particles have a larger pore diameter, but up to 3X higher dynamic binding capacity from improvements in ligand attachment chemistry. Process economics stand to benefit from the ability to clean Toyopearl Q-600C AR resin with 1.0 mol/L sodium hydroxide with minimal impact on dynamic binding capacity.

According to Al Jackewitz, marketing manager of process development resins at Tosoh Bioscience LLC, the new resin is in inventory and now available for purchase. It is available in container volumes from 100 mL to 50 L.
