A Legacy Continued with Phoenix System
Central to this partnership is the Octave system, initially developed by Semba Biosciences for small molecule and sugar applications. After Semba’s acquisition, Tosoh Bioscience has effectively leveraged this foundational technology to develop its advanced multi-column chromatography (MCC) systems, the Octave BIO and Octave PRO, specifically designed for the purification of biomolecules. These innovative systems underscore Tosoh Bioscience’s commitment to enhancing biomanufacturing productivity, offering process flexibility, and ensuring the highest product quality while reducing production costs.
However, the Octave system's inception was rooted in addressing the complex needs of small molecule and sugar purification. Since Semba’s acquisition, Tosoh Bioscience has seen continuous demand for the original Octave system, as it offers a unique solution for these specific industries. Therefore, the original Octave system will be commercialized under the new brand name Phoenix by ProSep Ltd., expanding its purification technology portfolio for small molecules.
