1. Where do I find the coupling procedure for the activated resins?

Contact the Technical Support line at 800-366-4875 and a technical specialist can provide a detailed procedure for the activated resins. The Tosoh Bioscience Literature Library also has many recommended prodcedures based on the type of reactive or activated resin being used.

2. Can you clean affinity resins with caustic?

TOYOPEARL® AF-Chelate-650M can be cleaned with caustic up to 0.5 mol/L NaOH. All other Affinity products such as the activated media are most likely sensitive to caustic (due to the nature of the attached ligand) and should be cleaned with less aggressive combinations of salt, chaotrope, and detergent.

3. Does Tosoh Bioscience offer a Protein A resin for antibody purification?

Yes, Tosoh Bioscience offers two Protein A resins: TOYOPEARL® AF-rProtein A-650F and our most recently introduced high capacity resin, TOYOPEARL® AF-rProtein A HC-650F.

TOYOPEARL® AF-rProtein A HC-650F resin exhibits dynamic binding capacities of greater than 65 g/L at residence times of 5 minutes and greater than 50 g/L at 2 minutes residence time with feed stock concentrations from 1.0 g/L to 10.0 g/L.

TOYOPEARL® AF-rProtein A-650F offers alkaline resistance and low ligand leakages in the range 5-25 ng/mg IgG.
